-MY FUTURE-

LEVEL: Form 2 (Intermediate)
TOPIC: Future Prediction
THEME: Social Issue
TIME: 40 minutes
LANGUAGE CONTENT: Simple Future Tense

AIMS: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to practice their writing skills by using the information from the website and present the information in a paragraph form using future tense and complete sentences.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• One computer per group of 2-3 students
• Internet connection
• Web Browser


PREPARATION:

1. Locate the Mash Game website.
2. Browse through the website to make sure it is suitable for the students and match the topic.
3. Prepare worksheet based on the information in the website.

PROCEDURE:

Set induction: (5 minutes)

1. Teacher introduces the topic of the day.
2. Teacher recaps the previous lesson on future tense.

Task 1: (15 minutes):

1. Teacher asks the students to form a group of 2 to 3 per computer.
2. Teacher instructs students to open the following website.

3. Teacher explains to the students on how to play the mash game.
4. Teacher allocates 20 minutes for students to complete the mash game.
5. Teacher guides the each group in completing the activity.

Task 2: (15 minutes):

1. Teacher distributes worksheets to students and asks them to complete the worksheets by writing a paragraph describing their future using future tense in complete sentences.
2. Teacher guides the students in their work.
3. Teacher discusses the answers/paragraph with the students.
4. Teacher asks the students to identify some of the future tense used in describing their future life.

Conclusion: (5 minutes)

1. Teacher recaps the lesson on ‘My Future’.
2. Teacher inculcates moral values.


FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY:

1. Each students have to execute TASK 2 at home and E-mail it to teacher before the next class.

Everyone have their own dreams and plans for their future. Who will be our wife? Where will we live? What kind of house would we buy? How many kids would we have? What type of car will we be driving and what will we be in the future. As for me, when I reach 28 years old I will be a professional footballer in my favorite football club. I will get marry with the girl of my dream Liyana Jasmay. Then I will buy a gorgeous house beside the beautiful beach in Bali. I really love kids so I would like to have at least 3 sons and 2 daughters. With the unlimited money that I earned, I would definitely buy my second wife which is the Nissan Fairlady-Z. We will live happily ever after.
